Issues

ABORTION

I am 100% pro-life, no exceptions. We can’t expect to have our rights protected if we can’t even protect the most basic human right of the most vulnerable among us. I say ‘no exceptions’ because the fabrication known as “life of the mother” is a loophole lie used by pro-choice pushers to infiltrate their agenda into the pro-life movement. If a woman needs an operation to save her self while pregnant and because of this operation the baby dies – this is not an abortion! An abortion is always
a procedure that has one intent only – to murder a baby.

A lion is a lion, a snake is a snake, and a baby is a baby. By definition you only have a right to your body and your property – no one else’s! Therefore a mother does not have the right to “choose”. If a drunken husband beats his pregnant wife and it kills the baby but the mother lives, the man will be charged with murder! Because a baby unborn or born is still a baby!

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION

I am against affirmative action, not because I want to see women and minorities do poorly. In fact, it’s because I want to see them succeed that I have the stance I do. Affirmative action keeps women and minorities down, it does not lift them up. It tells them they are too worthless to be able to achieve on their own, instead the government has to pickup where it left off in its mommy role, and these folks who are supposedly helped are actually having their professional growth stunted. In the long run it does more to simply hurt white people, not help minorities, and that is why it is bad policy.

In the words of MLKJ “Where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” I believe the same thing goes for the work force too. Employers should not be forced to hire somebody based on skin color but rather by their merit!

ALTERNATIVE ENERGY

I support the concept of alternative energy. America is the most innovative country on Earth, surely we can come up with something. We just need to make sure that there is no government regulation or restrictions on what these scientists can come up with.

I believe it is very important to invest into the future with discovering new and alternative energy sources. There is only so much oil on God’s green (small g) earth and we need to have more options than just hybrids.

AMERICA

Of course I am pro-America. Unfortunately, at the rate we are going, I am sincerely afraid that the country (and world for that matter) my grandchildren will live in, will not be a place I want them to be. I hate the people that are constantly telling us America needs improving by virtue of their actions. I don’t want “change”, I kind of like America, it has been the
greatest country that has ever existed in the history of the world.

America is the one country that every country longs to be. This country was not built upon sand it was built on a rock, that of the constitution and civilizations all around the world have tried to copy it or imitate it and it never works! It saddens me that there are people in this country who would try to improve this document by taking on the ideology of Marx. America as our founders set out to create is the greatest nation on the face of the planet, its worth fighting for, its worth dying for because there is no greater place to hang your hat and call home than America.

ANARCHY

In our present condition, with nanny state government all in our grills, an absence of government sounds pretty good, but it truly is not. Government has its role – to protect citizens’ rights. Without the government there to protect rights, you’re left to your own devices. If the majority (or even a large mob) decides they want your property, good luck protecting yourself and family. A republic really is the way to go.

Is the absence of government. This may sound great to some of you but in the words of Cosmo Cramer, “Lets just face it, without rules there’s kayos.” It’s true, if there is no law or rules for people to abide by or be held accountable for then anything goes, everyman for himself if you will. The ancient Greeks said it best when they said, “Without law there can be no freedom.” You see if there is no law and no government officials to see that the law is obeyed you have to protect your self, property, and family by yourself. So if you are old and feeble or young and fragile people can take advantage of you and steal your property without facing any repercussions.

BORDER FENCE

I definitely appreciate and recognize the problems at the border in keeping illegals out. However, I think the idea of spending big bucks on building a wall (read: obstacle course for illegals) is a waste. We need to get boots on the ground and use technology to stop illegal immigration – this is the 21st century not a 14th century castle! If you really want to start reducing the numbers, try cutting the handouts that encourage people to flock here without taking the necessary, legal steps.

Illegal immigration is a serious threat to the integrity of our nation. Allowing any one person into our country illegally in a post 9/11 world is nothing short of suicidal. If an illegal is going to disrespect and break our laws coming into our country, what’s going to stop them from breaking our laws once they are in our country? We need to build a wall around our border and crack down on immigration laws and stop giving every person who enters our country a free ride.

CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM

John McCain and his liberal buddies came up with this garbage legislation that effects freedom of speech in political campaigns. The elimination of freedom of speech in any capacity is dangerous business…even amongst politicians.

Government putting financial restrictions on political campaigns is a dumb idea. Its like a salary cap in baseball. If a team has the money and wants to spend it let them. Same goes for campaigns, if a political party or candidate has the money and wants to spend it let them! It is none of the government’s business!

CAPITALISM

I absolutely support capitalism. Free markets and privatization are the only way to make an economy prosper. The “capitalism” of the George W. Bush years is not free market, laissez-faire capitalism. During the Bush years we’ve experienced “cronyism” masked as capitalism, as G. Edward Griffin puts it. All the liberals will claim that deregulation of the market caused our horrible economic situation today – that is pure BS. We witnessed nothing but added regulation and manufactured markets during the years of the Bush administration.

Capitalism is the greatest economical system known to man! It is the system under which wealth and the means of producing wealth are PRIVATELY owned. It is all about using labor, land and capital to generate profit without force. The thing I love most about capitalism is that when it is in action, it allows businesses and individuals to thrive without the government interfering!

CIVIL RIGHTS ACT

Civil Rights acts don’t (and can’t) “give” rights to citizens. Rights are God-given and Constitutionally recognized. Many “civil rights” movements don’t even have any mention of the Constitution, they attempt to “legislate rights” through the Congress or “make laws” through the Judicial system. The government should recognize the God-given rights of all
citizens of this country regardless of race, sex, or religion, but the way to do that is by amending the Constitution.

There have been several civil rights acts that have been implemented over the course of our country’s history. The first in 1866 which essentially “gave” rights to emancipated slaves. I like the idea of this but it’s all wrong – the slaves had rights all along. Just because the government didn’t recognize and protect them doesn’t mean they didn’t have them. Minorities are just as much a human as I am and don’t need the government to acknowledge their rights. We only need the government to do its one and only job which is to protect these rights. I cannot say that I am 100% against all of the things done with civil rights acts through the course of history, I don’t agree with a good bit of the stuff that was originally done, like the Civil Rights act of 1871, which protected blacks from the KKK. However, I believe a sick perversion has been implemented into this well intended act like the 1964 act that I believe caused more racial problems than it fixed. Historians can trace the racial divide in urban areas and the country back to the 1964 civil rights
act and this kind of discrimination and segregation I disagree with!

CIVIL UNIONS

I am for the idea of Civil Unions in the way that it allows homosexuals to be recognized as a couple and it gives them rights like hospital visitation. Using this terminology, a “Civil Union” should be nothing more than a government enforced contract. Marriage is very different than a contract as there should be no government involvement – it is explicitly a religious matter and all other “rights” via the government that we associate with marriage today can be done with contracts and living wills.

I am not 100% for or against civil unions. I do not believe that gays should get financial benefits that civil unions give them because the country has no vested interest in them. That’s not against anyone, that’s a fact. Gays cannot produce children. However, I am not in favor of denying them privileges in hospital visitation, or decisions about
interpretations of their wills once their lover has died.

CREATIONISM TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS

As I said of teaching evolution in schools, I support teaching both sides of the issue and letting the children decide. Why does public school system silence the debate on the issue and make it impossible for teachers and even students from bringing up the mere possibility of a divine Creator? Let’s grow our children’s brains by getting as many ideas and concepts in
there as possible.

If we are teaching evolution in schools we sure as heck better be teaching Creationism too, after all the founder of the public schools Benjamin Rush wanted the Bible to be used as a textbook in the schools so their kids would know ware the laws and ethics of this great land came from. (See also: Evolution taught in schools).

DEATH PENALTY

While I do believe that the most heinous criminals do deserve the death penalty for their crimes, I cannot support the death penalty. Giving the government the power to take the life of a citizen (criminal or not) is too much power to give to the government. I am also a strong believer in states rights because the Constitution says so (any rights not explicitly
given to the Feds are left to the states or the people) – the death penalty should be a state issue and the federal government should not be able to pass a verdict of death penalty on a criminal.

As a Christian I am against the death penalty. I believe in situations where somebody has been arrested and is in police custody, incapable of harming anyone, he shouldn’t be executed. We need to turn the other cheek to an extent. However, considering how corrupt our prison system has become, I have been forced to reconsider my position a number of times. Prison is no longer what it used to be nowadays inmates are given free time to shoot hoops, lift weights, watch TV and in some cases work on getting college degrees. All of these luxuries are courtesy of the taxpayer dollar. However, life is a right, meaning that it cannot be transferred, granted or taken away – period. That’s a simple fact and we can’t excuse it in one way or another. Rapists, murderers and pedophiles are all humans with the same right to life as anyone else until God chooses to take that away from them. Once you let the state control
who will live and who will die you authorize them to be the giver of rights and they will take away any rights they so choose.

DEMOCRACY

Democracy sounds really good, and America’s system of electing representatives is a democratic system. However, a full-out democracy is a bad gig. Democracies are a system of majority rule, or mob rule. In a democracy, the majority can take away the life, liberty and happiness of the minority. This is why a system based on the rule of Law (aka Republic) is the best system.

The word Democracy comes from the Greek words, demos kratein which translates to, “people to rule” which means the majority rule or mob rule. This also may sound good because the majority of the people get what they want… But what if 26 out of 50 people in your area want to take away your family, or property? If they want to they can because 26 out of 50 is the majority. They need no law to abide by all they need is the majority vote and what they want happens. 51 people can take away the rights of the other 49, and that is wrong! “Democracies have ever
been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property, and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.” -James Madison

DISCIMINATORY TAXES

We talk about discrimination taxes a lot at The Conservative Declaration, and the main reason for that is because it seems that there are more and more every day. Tobacco, alcohol, soda, CO2, what is next? Air? Light? Don’t even laugh.

I.E. any tax that discriminates against any group of people like smokers; via tobacco tax, anyone who consumes alcohol; in that of an alcohol tax and other taxes such as the recent proposal to have a certain soda tax. All of these taxes are “constitutional” because the Constitution does permit indirect taxes, but the problem I have with this is they are not proportionate with all other sales tax. For example in the state of PA sales tax is $.06 to every dollar on most items but on tobacco it is much higher. This is nothing more than a discrimination tax on people who smoke. Smokers should be outraged and you should too because how long until they raise taxes on something you enjoy like drinking soda? Don’t laugh, that’s something congress has seriously been talking about, because soda is so evil and unhealthy for you, that congress wants to punish any one who drinks it.

DRUG LEGALIZATION

My opinion on this issue is sort of like my opinion on the border fence. In an America where we wouldn’t be forced into “bailing-out” losers who ruin their lives with drugs, I would be completely behind drug legalization – after all, alcohol prohibition didn’t work, why would we think the so-called War on Drugs would work?

I believe that drugs should be legalized but with some stipulations and exceptions. Banning drugs will not help solve drug problems just like banning guns and alcohol never worked in this country. Look at other countries where they have drug legalization the problems and cases of abuse are scarce. However I feel as though there should be regulations
as far as driving, hunting, and other such things. They should be limited to their usage but like anything that was once banned that we make legal this can’t be done over night.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION REGULATION

I’m pro protecting the environment, just not through heavy-handed government programs. It should be an individual responsibility of each American to do their part to keep Earth clean – not because of threats of punishments from government agencies. If we had more respect for private property rights, this could be handled via lawsuits rather than by government intervention.

As a conservative I believe we should conserve our environment. However this does not mean that I believe in global warming. I do not! Protecting and preserving the environment will not affect the earth’s temperature. I just believe it is a good idea in general to reduce pollution making our earth a more visually attractive place to live. This is not the role of the government though and when people talk about environmental protection generally they are speaking about government restrictions and caps on businesses and bans on certain automobiles etc. – this I am 100% against.

ESTATE TAX

Completely against this tripe. The idea of the government stealing all or a portion of what your relatives wanted you to inherit is straight-up Marxism. Read the 10 planks!

An estate tax is a tax on your estate, your property, and your land. Why of should the government or how can they tax you of charge you a fee for something they do not own or have any part of.

EUTHANASIA

I don’t like the idea very much, it is a hard subject to think about and discuss. The reality is that there are some individuals suffering unnecessarily whose lives are filled with nothing but pain and suffering. In these situations the only humane thing to do is allow the individual, if they make the decision, to end their life so they may have relief. Of course, in practice there would have to be very concise stipulations and documentation to make it crystal clear that there are no mistakes or questionable actions on the part of the physician or the ill individual or their family.

I am a strong supporter or advocate for life and the sanctity of it. The life and death of human beings is God’s role, not man’s. I believe everything happens for a reason and that even when people are at the lowest of lows in their life there is hope for them and their life ALWAYS has purpose and value. Am I legislating morality? This is not my only reasoning
for being apposed to euthanasia. The very definition of a right, states that they can’t be granted or taken away, they can’t be transferred or earned either. Black’s dictionary of law states, that a right is, “power or free action, something you have the sovereign authority to do, because there is no one of higher authority to get permission from.” This means that no one has the right to take someone else’s life even if they have given that person permission to do so! Because that suicidal person has a right to life and that right cannot be transferred, or taken away, NO EXCEPTIONS! When you legalize euthanasia, rights become privileges and you no longer have a right to life you have a privilege to live.

EVOLUTION TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS

I encourage both sides of this issue to be taught in schools, not simply the Creationism viewpoint because I support competition and I like the idea of making children in our public schools think and have to look at both sides of the issue and open a forum for friendly debate.

I have no problem what so ever with the theory of evolution being taught in school. There are plenty of theories that are taught in school and a variety is good for children to learn about. However, If they are teaching evolution they sure as heck better be teaching the Creation “theory” as well after all the founder of the public schools Benjamin Rush wanted the
Bible to be used as a textbook in the schools so their kids would know ware the laws and ethics of this great land came from.

FAIRNESS DOCTRINE

The fairness doctrine is straight-up censorship. Rather than censorship to “protect the children” from inappropriate content, it is censorship meant to silence the opposition of the growing liberal-socialist political machine.

This is one of the biggest assaults on free speech in America. The idea that the government can choose what shows can be syndicated and not and what material can and cant make it onto the internet all in the name of “fairness” is a load of crap! This is nothing more than an attack on successful talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage, anyone who apposes big government philosophies like the fairness doctrine beware apparently the first amendment doesn’t apply to you!

FCC

The FCC regulates the airwaves, which violates freedom of speech. If a radio or television station wants to broadcast certain content on their airwaves, then that is their right and the government should not have the power to take that right away. It is the responsibility of individuals to censor themselves and “regulate” what they want to see and what they or don’t want their children to see. Censor yourself!

The Federal Communications Commission is a bunch of appointed officials who take it upon themselves to censor free speech based on what they think is morally right. The one thing that they neglect to realize is that in the process of legislating their morals they are taking away the rights of other citizens’ free speech on radio, television, and other forms of media.
If you ask me the people who are censoring this God-given free speech are just as immoral as the people they are censoring.

FEMINIST MOVEMENT

I’m not against women having equal rights as men or even doing the same things as men if they want to, I just don’t like the movement itself. It is not about lifting women up, it is about bringing men down, and that doesn’t make anyone happier…the angry feminists are proof of that.

Feminism has in many ways hurt our country. I have no problem with a woman who wants to go out and get a job, I do have a problem with a woman who wants to get a job that she cannot do as efficiently as another person and still get paid the same. It is historically accurate that feminism became big during the time period of the inventions of the washing machines, microwave ovens, etc. During this time period the woman’s traditional jobs at home were made easier giving them more free time so they started to go out into the work force and taking
on jobs. The problem therein lies when the average American household was making nearly double what they used to, which drove the cost of living up because retailers knew they could raise the cost of goods and services if Americans were bringing in nearly twice as much as they were before. This was the feminists fatal mistake if you ask me because now it is almost a requirement that both men and women work just to make two ends meet. The average household in America has two working parents which hurts the children when it comes time to be raised because you are not around which means the government has to raise your kids and they will raise them the way they want to, but that’s another topic for another issue.

FLAG BURNING

I am a believer in free speech, as you know, so it’s tough to say to someone they can’t burn a flag, because in a way it would be infringing on their freedom of speech. However, after much thought on the issue, I must say that I don’t believe that burning our country’s flag is sending any message other than that of hate for this country. Disagree, argue,
protest the government, but don’t burn our nation’s flag. Doing so doesn’t say “down with our current administration”, it says you hate everything this country stands for, from our founding fathers in 1776 to our current days. And if that is your viewpoint, than why are you here? I hate the idea of Communism, so guess what? I don’t live in China. Burn your flag if you want, but if I catch you in the act, I may be forced to exercise my 2nd Amendment right.

I cannot say Pro or Con because although I disagree with flag burning (which would imply Con) because of my love for my country I also realize that banning flag burning is just another example of big government taking away your rights to do what ever you want with your property. If you own a flag and you want to burn it on your property you have that right I and no one else can take that right away from you.

FLAT TAX

I generally support anything that would change our current boondoggle tax system, which is so confusing you need a degree in mathematics to figure it out. The idea of taxing everyone at a flat rate makes a lot of sense and is much more fair than our current progressive system. I say support the flat tax; it’s a step in the right direction…but what
about repealing the income tax altogether?

Here is an idea… how about NO TAX! Unfortunately even the smallest of governments need some money so they can protect your rights. So sadly they will need to get money somewhere, and the flat tax is the fairest way to do that.

FRIVILOUS LAWSUITS

People nowadays sue over every little thing. Most of the time, it is because they are unwilling to take responsibility for their actions so instead they blame the other guy or the business or the product or their parents. Stop suing and blaming everyone and take responsibility when you misuse a product, wrong your fellow man, or have an accident. Lawsuits are certainly justifiable some of the time and we need an honest and efficient judicial system. These frivolous suits do nothing but make that necessity less of a reality. That being said, I do not support so called “tort reform” which would restrict what someone can and cannot sue over. I just believe the juries need to be a little harsher when it comes to claims of “civil wrongs”.

I get as much of a kick reading about these stupid people in magazines, newspapers and books as anyone else but when it all boils down to it they are destroying the very fabric of our country. Now days if you spill coffee on yourself you can sue McDonald’s if there was not a sign warning you that it was hot… I know sounds stupid doesn’t it? Now days if you
sell a motor home to an idiot who decides to put it in cruse control and go into the back of the RV to make a sandwich on the middle of a busy interstate you can get sued unless the owners manual says, “cruse control does not mean auto pilot.” These lawsuits should be thrown away as soon as the reach the judges desk. If you are that stupid buy a gun, don’t read the instructions, just load it and point it at your temple and pull the trigger! Then try to sue the gun industry for making a device that you could hurt your self with. It is not the governments job – judicial, executive, or legislative branch to save you from yourself!

GAMBLING LEGALIZATION

I believe gambling is morally wrong, but I am 100% in support of legalizing it. This is another example of how I can be against an activity but supportive of letting others do as they will. I don’t agree with PA Governor Ed Rendell in using gambling as a way to “raise money” for Pennsylvania’s inflated budget. Let privately owned casinos open and operate, but keep the governments’ filthy hands off of it – we don’t need more discriminatory taxes!

As far as I know, gambling is not illegal in any of the 50 states but never the less it is another one of these quote, un-quote controversial issues, but why? The idea that the government should tell people how they can and cant waist their own money is simply ridiculous! The government waists our money on a daily business and don’t give us a say in ware it goes but if you want to gamble away your money, they will step in and say, “No, no!” Makes a lot of sense doesn’t it? Just like everything else in this country, we need to look at the very root of the situation before drawing our own conclusions. Do citizens have the right to their own money? Do they have the right to do with their money what they please? And are they violating anyone els’es rights by gambling? Yes, yes and the last one is debatable… Sure, a father or mother who does not gamble responsibly can hurt themselves and their families but how is that an
affair of the government. It all goes back to responsibility and self-reliance. And in the words of Abraham Lincoln, “You cannot help men permantly by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.” and as long as the government takes responsibility for how people use their money the citizens will never learn to do it themselves.

GAY MARRIAGE

I am against redefining marriage much like I am against redefining most words in the dictionary. If you read my opinion on Civil Unions you will kind of get an idea of what I think we should do about homosexuals who want to make a lifelong commitment to each other. Marriage is between a man, a woman, and God – it is solely a religious issue, NOT a government issue. As it is not a government issue, this bunk about “legal recognition” is farcical. Hmmm….if a marriage is not “legally recognized” by the state, does that mean you are a felon for participating in an “illegal” amalgamation?

Marriage is a sacred union between one man one woman and one God established in the Old Testament. It is a matter of church not state! The government cannot come into a private institute and tell them they have to change their criteria for their sector. The government can’t change the meaning of marriage just like they can’t change the requirements of the boy scouts (which is also a private group) to allow girls to join, that’s just absurd!

GLOBAL WARMING THEORY

It’s all a lie. This climate change talk is nothing more than propaganda pushed on the American people to turn us into sheep. Once all of (or at least most of) America believes in this bunk, the government can pass laws and regulations that “save the environment” that will infringe on our rights and no one will say peep about it because they don’t want to be seen as anti-green. Note: I’m not saying the Earth’s temperature is not minutely rising – it is, I just don’t believe it’s because of humans, CO2, pollution, or any of that stuff.

Global warming does not exist! There is no scientific data that proves it. Since NASA’s start in space exploration and research scientists have shown that earth’s temperature and the temperature of Mars have always been similar. Meaning that if Earths temperature rises over a time span so does Mars if Earths temperature cooled over a span of time so does Mars. Al Gore claims that over the past 10 years earths temperature has risen exactly 2 degrees what he does not tell you is the temperature of Mars has also risen exactly 2 degrees over the same time span. How is this possible if there are no SUV’s on Mars?

GREAT SOCIETY

LBJ’s crack at recreating FDR’s New Deal hurt America almost as much almost as much as the former. To quote Goldwater, “Lyndon Johnson is the biggest faker in the united States Congress.” Much of the legislation and ideas were not new ideas, rather, voted down ideas from the past. LBJ voted against so-called Civil Rights for African-Americans before he was VP and later President. His War on Poverty was and still is (as all government-run social “wars”) a losing battle.

This was LB-flippin-J’s big socialist plan for the united States in order to eliminate of poverty and racial injustice, they launched big spending programs that addressed education, medical care, urban problems, and transportation using techniques similar to that of FDR’s “New Deal”. The Great Society was the official declaration of a, “War on Poverty” which only made poverty worse. This not so great leader also implemented bankrupt systems such as Medicare and Medicaid, which is essentially socialized medicine for the poor and elderly.
(See also Medicare and Medicaid)

GUN RIGHTS

Yes! What I don’t understand is how people could be against gun rights – it’s called the 2nd Amendment! You’ll hear lots of bunk about the Founding Fathers meaning for the 2nd Amendment to only apply to state militias. Clearly this is not true. If the dolts that said this read any of the Founding Fathers essays and letters, they would know the Founding Fathers intended for an armed population to protect themselves and overthrow tyrannical government should one form.

The 2nd amendment to our constitution was put in place for a reason. You have a right to life so there fore you have a right to protect your life at any means necessary. Liberals today want you to believe that guns kill people and where guns are banned there is little or no crime. This is all false. A gun is not a living this for one, so it can’t DO anything without being in the hands of someone who can make the conscious decision to abuse it. There fore people kill people. And lastly studies have shown that
more guns means less crime.

HOMESCHOOLING

Homeschooling is the best way to give a child a solid education. The government, teachers unions and liberal organizations have, for 50+ years, been cooking up laundry lists of reasons homeschooling is bad. Not because they believe the lies to be true and because they want what’s best for children – it’s for job security and populace mind control. Everything from “kids won’t know how to socially interact” to “parents aren’t smart enough to teach” to “they won’t be able to participate in extracurricular activities”. Extracurricular activities? Who the hell cares about extracurricular activities if the kid can’t even write a freaking sentence!? Unless he’s going from high school basketball to the NBA, I think a liberal arts education is a little more important than shooting hoops with friends don’t you? Studies have shown that home-schooled children perform better on standardized tests (yes, government and state standardized tests, ironically). I think if teachers and their henchmen focused a little more time on improving their curriculums instead of working up new lies about homeschooling, our public education would be leaps and bounds ahead of where it is (but then again, that wouldn’t be too difficult considering the circumstances).

Every year parents send their children off to the government to be raised and then 13 years later they wonder why their children have grown-up with different morals and beliefs than their own. Why any rational, sane person would send the most important thing in their lives, their very children, off to be raised by a bunch of strangers that are a part of a liberal union is beyond me. It is no coincidence that the majority of national spelling bee champions were home schooled. It’s also no coincidence that most high school graduates of the public school receive their diplomas with a third grade reading level. They can’t even read their diploma! But at least they have one thing right? Wrong! There is no doubt in my mind that anyone reading this is more qualified and capable of teaching their kids than any government employee. Believe me, you can’t get much worse than them! I believe it’s time the government gets the heck out of the way of homeschoolers and quit putting roadblocks in the way of parents who want to homeschool. I say if you don’t have a kid in the public schools you don’t pay the school taxes. or the government should be paying and supplying parents for teaching their own children. Its not that difficult!

ISRAELI WELFARE

I don’t believe it is the role of the government to “protect”, “defend”, or “arm” any other country. This is a misuse of tax dollars and it goes against the Constitution and our Founding Fathers warning of entangling alliances. Israel can take care of itself, it is not our job to be the bodyguard of all of our so-called allies. So many Republicans, who frowned upon and were so offended when witnessing the trillions of dollars given to the auto industry and mortgage lenders, seem to have no problem shelling out that kind of cash to support a foreign country’s government/military? I am a fiscal conservative through and through, and that is why I can’t support any such spending measures. I support Israel in theory, just not financially.

I believe it is in America’s best interest to look out for Israel. As a Christian, I believe that Revelation will take place when Israel is under serious attack. You may not be a Christian, that’s fine but I got a flash for you: Christianity happens to be the heritage of our founding fathers. Adam would argue that Revelation will happen in God’s time and man has no effect on that. I disagree because every man woman and child has God given free will. Saying that would be like saying that if I take a loaded gun and fired it into my temple that if God doesn’t want me to die I simply wouldn’t that God would make an exception and take that free will away from me. Adam would also argue that I cannot force my belief system on others and that my stance is an anti-conservative view. If so, than so be it, call me a liberal if you want, I don’t care. I am a Christian first, an American second, and a Conservative third. Don’t misunderstand me I am not necessarily saying we should be fighting wars for them, I just think we should look out for them. If that makes sense…

LABOR UNIONS

I am against the indoctrination imposed on union workers by unions. I am against the restrictions union workers have impressed on them and the way unions keep the cream of the crop down with the lowliest workers. However, banning the formation of unions is unconstitutional. Americans have the right to peaceably assemble. I just believe that we need ways to get workers who want to be out of the unions out, without losing their jobs or being stiffed out of various benefits.

Unions in general are bad ideas they harvest and fester communist ideas by fighting for raises for everyone giving none in the company incentive to work harder. After all if I am going to get paid the same and receive raises regardless if I work hard or not why should I sweat it? However I am not in favor of making unions illegal because banning is a Communist idea.

LEGISLATING MORALITY

I think my morals are spot on. Griffin thinks his morals are right. You think yours are the bees’ knees. Obviously, everyone has their own personal beliefs and they all think that they’re right (if not, they would change them). That being said, why should one persons set of morals become the “standard” and be forced upon everyone else? This style of thinking
reads in on my moral compass as being “wrong”. It also sets off my BS detector. It pains me to see so many Republicans of the Religious Right who claim to be conservative, try to persuade us that legislating their morals would be a good thing. No thanks Mr. Dobson.

You simply cannot legislate what you believe to be morally correct as a law without taking away someone else’s free will. Laws shall not be written against individuals’ choices unless they interfere with someone else’s rights. Drugs, prostitution, gambling, drinking, and tobacco are some of the big ones you hear people in high office trying to push for however unless they violate someone else’s rights there is noting the government or anyone else can do to stop them. Once we allow the government to make these choices for us we give them the sovereign authority to decide what our rights are and aren’t and then they can tell you anything they want you to do and you have to obey! You can’t worship ware you want to, you can’t eat ware you want to and you can’t even sleep ware you want to. That’s called totalitarianism and that I disagree with!

MEDICAID AND MEDICARE

I am against the concepts behind these programs and I think they need to be abolished. Let individuals be responsible for themselves and their families and for their retirement (that includes a nest egg for insurance when retired). However, if this were to happen, I think we do need to take responsibility for those who are currently living off these systems.

Government run = NO! Medicaid and Medicare are just different kinds of socialized medicine they are socialist ideas and they are bad for freedom and you!

MEDICAL MARIJUANA

I support the right of people to have the freedom to do whatever they want to their body, which is their property, in hopes of making it feel better, so long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else. People who are sick and feel better when they use marijuana should not be stopped from doing so by some legislator who thinks they know better than the individual who is ill.

Again with the banning! Banning anything is a communist ideology. Medical marijuana is still marijuana but it helps ease the pain of terminally ill patients who are most likely going to die soon anyway, which means the long term effects of marijuana will not harm them. I believe that making Medical Marijuana legal is a good stepping-stone to eventually making all drugs legal, which takes me back to the points I made on drug legalization above.

MILITARY DRAFT (CONSCRIPTION)

I believe in the crazy idea that individuals own their own body, not their government. Forcing people to serve, whether it be in the military or though some government-run “charity” program, is un-American and pure BS. As far as the military is concerned, traditionally, we only have a draft when we are involved in war(s). My opinion is, if the able-bodied are not
willing to volunteer to serve their country, maybe it’s because the general consensus is that the war is not in the best interest of America, and not worth fighting or dying for. When it’s a worthy cause, the brave citizens’ of America will proudly volunteer.

A military draft is not talked about often in today’s day and age because currently there is no need for one. Never the less, it is a hot button issue and I am strongly apposed to it. Any government which has grown to the point of forcing civilians to serve in the military has grown beyond its means. The whole idea of a draft is against freedom because they need to
use force to see that it is done, and anytime force is used a free choice is taken away.

MINIMUM WAGE

I am against the minimum wage because it eliminates jobs. There are plenty of employers that could afford to take on an extra employee or two if they would pay the employee just $4.00 an hour. Four bucks an hour may sound like a lowly sum to you, but to someone struggling to make ends meat, four dollars an hour is a godsend. With minimum wage
laws at around $7/hour, many employers can’t afford to pay that extra $3, so they do without the additional employee(s). Now those jobs that would’ve been out there are not and Joe, the unemployed laborer, makes $0 an hour instead of $4 dollars an hour. Talk about a livable income…

Mandating that a work place pay their workers at least x amount of money is yet another big government socialist idea. If an employer wants to hire people at $0.50 an hour and there are people willing to do it then let them. Most people wont work for that much money though and it is obvious most employers will pay competitive wages to keep employees around other wise the majority of Americans would be making minimum wage which is not the case. In July of 2004 the overall, average hourly wages for American workers was $18.09 NOT $5.15.

MISSILE DEFENSE SYSTEM

Yes I support the program…but than again I’m a supporter of strong military. I don’t see why one would oppose Star Wars, it’s all about defending America from missile/nuclear attacks.

A Missile Defense System in the hands of the United States is the best thing since sliced bread. This system allows the United States to have non-nuclear kinetic warheads ready to launch not IF but WHEN another country attacks us and declares war on us. When I say war I don’t mean like the War in Iraq I am talking like WWII style 60,000,000 casualties. A well-armed Missile Defense System can very well avoid these types of casualties. Some of which will be located on sate lights in space
that can and will be launched at our enemy’s what push comes to shove. How can our enemy’s prevent getting hit when our missiles are coming from space?

MONARCHY

Of course I don’t support monarchism. Who…why is this even a question? Walter….

As in the system under which all of the power in a country is given to one individual? This form of government I completely and utterly disagree with. Although there are few if any of these systems actually in place the simple idea of giving all the power and rights to one selfish and corrupt individual is sickening to me.

NAFTA

Regardless of what terminology it has in its title, NAFTA is not free trade. The idea that we need some kind of a chapter book size agreement to implement so-called free trade is preposterous. If we truly wanted free trade, our “agreement” with Mexico and Canada would be one sentence: “The United States has free trade with Mexico and Canada”, on official letterhead with a few signatures. NAFTA is a perversion of free trade with provisions to work toward a North American Union.

NAFTA is the North American Free Trade Agreement, which is an oxy-moron if you ask me because what it is just a list of rules and regulations concerning trade. If it is “Free Trade” there would be no rules and regulations listed in a book the size of a phone book. There would be one agreement and one agreement ONLY! You are free to trade! “The freer the markets the freer the people.”

NANNY LAWS

When will the government leave us alone? Why do they think that they need to tell us when to sit down, stand up, eat and sleep? Live and Let Live! The liberals are the ones pushing this garbage most of the time. The libs want to control our actions and the Religious Right wants to control our thoughts. I want YOU to control both!

Nanny Laws (seatbelt laws, helmet laws, etc.) are decisions your nanny should have made for you when you were growing up, but once you turn 18 and move away from home that should be your responsibility to decide whether you will wear a helmet when riding a bite or a seatbelt when you are driving and it should be your decision on whether your children are to or not too. Why should the government pas legislation requiring these things, sure nine times out of ten if you are wearing a seatbelt in an accident you survive, but I know people personally who refuse to ware a seatbelt because their life was save by NOT wearing a seatbelt! Why should the government tell people like that they need to wear a seatbelt? If it were up to the government this friend of mine whose life was spared would have died in his car because he was wearing his seat belt!

NATIONAL HEALTH CARE

Socialism anybody? No thanks. This is Marxism plain and simple. When it comes right down to it, private businesses and charities can run health care better than the government can.

I.e.: Socialized medicine. Socialized like Socialism, Socialism from the Communist Manifesto, the Communist Manifesto from Karl Marx, Karl Marx the influential proponent of Communism.

NATIONAL ID CARD (REAL ID)

The National ID Card is a step toward the North American Union (the European Union has a national ID card) and is a weapon of a totalitarian government. Through this ID card, the government will be able to track you through RFID & GPS-like microchips and verify your location with security cameras with biometric capabilities. Many state’s DMV’s are already beginning to transition to have biometric technologies for their state driver’s licenses. They’re doing it in the name of fighting terrorism and in some cases, fighting illegal immigration, but I don’t buy this premise at all. I highly recommend you watch the movie “America: Freedom to Fascism”, for a much more detailed description of this evil idea.

The national ID card is one of the biggest socialist ideas on the political table today! The purpose of this card is NOT so solve immigration problems and or keep you safe. The idea behind this card is to give the government more control over your personal freedoms. Without an ID card you will not be able to get a job, you will not be able to buy a car or groceries, you will not have the right to rent or own property – sound familiar to anyone? The Bible Makes reference to a sign or an item that you will need in the end times to purchase anything or do anything without it you will be considered an enemy of the world and the number will be 666. A National ID card is the first step to making all of this possible! So when they say, “National ID card”, you say: “666″.

NATIONAL RETAIL SALES TAX

A consumption tax is a good idea because it would eliminate our current bogus tax system and make it fairer for all. Of course I would only support it after a complete elimination of the federal income tax and the IRS.

I am not an anarchist I understand that the government does need to have some money so it can fulfill its one and only purpose. However the American people should not be forced to pay taxes! And nobody is forced to pay sales tax. By that I mean, if you don’t want to pay sales tax don’t buy anything that is taxable it’s that simple! Income tax is the complete opposite because you have to work to provide for yourself so you have to pay that tax. In other words the government is forcing you to pay them. And nothing is more un-American than forcing individuals of free will to do something beyond their will.

NEW DEAL

FDR’s New Deal did NOT bring us out the Great Depression – it prolonged the Great Depression. Socialism does not work regardless of the status of the country, the good intentions, or the implementation of the policies. Murray Rothbard’s book on the Great Depression is a must read on this subject as it tells the true story about the Great Depression, before, during and after the crisis.

This was the name for, F…F…F’ing…FDR’s economic programs he initiated between 1933 and 1935. “Relief to the unemployed, reform of business and financial practices, and recovery promotion.” These were the goals to get America out of the Great Depression. The New Deal was laced with socialist policies that FDR learned when he visited his buddy Joseph Stalin,
who killed millions of his own people in the name of progress, by the way. All of the New Deal garbage is simply that…garbage!

9/11 INSIDE JOB THEORY

Simply put, I just don’t believe it. The proof is in the pudding, 9/11 was not an inside job. However, I would not go as far as to say that the government is incapable of terrorizing its citizens to achieve tyrannical goals, let’s keep our government in check and under the citizens’ control so we can assure such a thing never does happen!

There are two major groups of people who support this ridiculous theory, A. anarchists like Alex Jones and B. Michael Moore Democrats who want the same government who “planned 9/11″ to run their health care… Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. These 9/11 inside jobbers are nothing more than washed up hippies and flower girls. Now do I believe our government is capable of planning such an attack? Yes, I just don’t believe 9/11 was an inside job. There would have been too many insiders who couldn’t keep their mouth shut. The story would have leaked months if not years before it happened. And besides, if it was that means that Clinton was in on it too seems an event like this would have taken and did take years to plan out and execute. It has been proven that in the early summer of 2000 the 9/11 Hijackers took flight training courses in South Florida, and Bush didn’t take office until January 20, 2001 which means Clinton was president when the hijackers were training for and planning their attack.

NUCLEAR POWER

I love the idea of nuclear power. It’s cheap and efficient and it would produce more jobs for the current struggling economy. It’s ironic – the liberals who want to be more like Europe refuse to support the major producer of energy in France – nuclear power.

Nuclear power is good.

OFF-SHORE DRILLING

We need to drill now so we can have relief from Middle East oil prices. In the meantime, we need to look into alternatives to gasoline.

I don’t care if we have to drill through a caribou’s skull, we need to drill here and drill now! We need to get rid of our dependence on foreign oil! Some experts believe we have enough oil in Alaska to last the United States over 30 years! Believe me animals are amazing things and they adapt. If we drill for oil they will move right along to another area in Alaska and do their mating there.

OLIGARCHY

Power in the hands a few privileged is a recipe for disaster and tyranny. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Is the most common form of government in existence today and through all of history, it is the system of government that is ruled by a few select individuals. This is the system of dictators and fascists, the Nazi type. This is the last thing we would want to come to our country. This system is the system that makes everyone enslaved to everyone!

PATRIOT ACT

I am against the Patriot Act not because I think tons of American’s rights have been violated – I don’t think DC really cares about the plans I’m making for the weekend over the phone with my buddies. However, by giving the government the power to do this, you are opening the door for more extreme measures of the same variety, which is bad news. I see the Patriot Act as the government kind of testing the waters to see how far they can go before the American people say, “enough is enough”. If we keep mindlessly giving in, soon we won’t have any rights! Supporting the Patriot Act does not make you a patriot.

The patriot act is another one of these issues that sounds good on the surface. After all the government has only one purpose and that is to PROTECT you! The patriot act is designed to protect you. But the problem with it is that the government does warrant-less wire taps. The problem is that it is warrant-less. If there is a suspected terrorist and they want to
listen in to his phone calls or whatever that’s fine. THEN GET A WARRANT! Once they have their warrant then by all means listen away and protect us. Anything beyond that is like in George Orwell’s book 1984 the where the government listens in on and over sees every aspect of their citizen’s private lives. Which is an invasion of privacy and completely unconstitutional!

PATRIOTISM

Of course I am proud to be an American. There are too many people in this country without patriotism, I believe that is part of the reason we’re going downhill.

I am Proud to be an American because I appreciate the sacrifices men have made to give me the freedoms I now enjoy like the ability to speak my mind and to worship where I want to without an oppressive government to interfere. America is the greatest nation to ever exist. It’s worth fighting for it’s worth dying for because there has never been another country better than this. I view every day as the fourth of July NOT April 15th.

PETA

I think PETA goes way too far with many of their campaigns however I don’t believe they should disbanded or anything. Much like labor unions, they have the constitutional right to assemble. They just need to make the personal decision to get their heads examined. I love how so many of the libs that support this organization cry when a chicken gets eaten but think it’s okay for women to murder their innocent children in the womb.

I am strongly against nearly everything PETA stands for. PETA believes that humans and animals are equal. These are the kinds of people who will swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid hitting a squirrel. I as a Christian and an individual with common since know that animals are not intrinsically valuable. They are simply animals you can’t treat an animal humanly because the word humane comes from human. PETA on its best behavior wants all man and women to live their life without harming any other living things. But In case you didn’t realize you CAN NOT live your life without interfering with something else’s life. Science has proven that plants are living things too. If we are going to treat animals “humanly” shouldn’t we treat plants that way too? Now you can’t eat anything but rocks and dirt! Oh doesn’t that make sense! Now with that being said I want to make it perfectly clear that I do believe that animal rights activists have the right to speak their mind so I don’t want to silence PETA or try and prevent them from having their organization either. I am not a Commie, I am better than them. PETA members will spend a lifetime trying to ban hunting! I am better than that…I am above that.

POLICE PROFILING

I’m not one to accuse people, police officers or not, of racism. However, I have heard first hand experiences from friends of mine who have been targeted by cops for doing nothing wrong…except for being black and driving a Cadillac (aka: a “drug dealer car”). We need to be clearer about probable cause.

Although the government does have the responsibility to protect its people it cannot violate the peoples right to privacy. Probably more so than you would know police would pull over a car a black man drives that with a Caucasian passenger because the think the white guy is being kidnapped or held hostage. This is NOT probable cause! This is outrageous!
Police need a warrant to do any form of wire-tapping, home, property invading etc.

POLICE STATE

Acts of aggression against United States citizens by the United States government will not stand, regardless of the situation. If we allow it in one case it will become acceptable in all cases and we will soon be living in a totalitarian police state, which is the opposite of a free country. Think East Germany in the 80′s…but worse.

A police state on the surface sounds like a good idea, after all, the police protect us don’t they? Yes police do protect us but a police state is much more than that. A police state is more government control of citizens. Like when you see the police lined up stampeding citizens with their bulletproof shields etc.

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

I think Americans need to buck up and stop being afraid of saying something that will get them labeled as racist, sexist, ageist, homophobic, etc. It is possible to speak your mind without doing any emotional harm to your fellow man, we need to learn that in this country.

Political correctness is a cancer that is destroying our country. We are now expected to tell our kids that no matter how badly they do something they still are a winner and that if someone hurts if they only cry loud enough they will be granted the right of an apology. We are going to loose this country if we keep spoon-feeding our kids this brain washing garbage! In life you have two options when someone offends you, you can let it tear you down or you can let it drive you. If you are the fat kid who can never finish a race you will never be a winner if you’re told you are a winner no matter what. Because in the real world there is no such this as were all winners. There is only one winner and the rest of you are all losers. You see in the words of Brad Stine, “If your all winners that means you all tied, if you all tied then nobody won. And if nobody won, you’re all losers!”

POLYGAMY

When I say ‘pro’ that doesn’t mean I personally condone polygamy, I just realize that marriage itself is NOT an issue of the state, it is solely a religious issue. Therefore, if some religion or cult decides they want their members to have polygamous marriage, then the state should not step in. This harkens back to the idea of separation of church and state, something we should all support when it comes to protecting the practices of a religion against the laws and coercion of the state.

I believe in the traditional view of marriage, i.e. (1) man and (1) woman the entire issue of marriage is an issue of church and not state and there should be no legal legislation defining marriage one way or another. That is what is meant by a separation of Church and State.

PROGRESSIVE TAX

I know the Socialists in this country are for it and have successfully made our Federal Income Tax progressive, that doesn’t mean it’s American. A progressive tax is one of the most crucial steps towards Communist government. It brings the hard working and successful down, it does not bring the poor and unfortunate up and that is why it is bad policy.

A progressive tax is one of the 10 planks to the Communist Manifesto. All Freedom loving Americans are against this anti-capitalist anti-success system of taxation! Here is the United States, 20% of our population pays 80% of the taxes. If that’s not B.S. then I do not know what is. Since when is success punished in a free country?

PROSTITUTION LEGALIZATION

Obviously, I don’t condone prostitution as a career or as an outlet for making money, however, I also believe in the phrase “Live and Let Live”. If consenting adults want to go down this path, let them, it is no skin off our teeth. They will have to deal with the consequences should any come out of it.

The, “world’s oldest profession” is as far as I know illegal in all 50 states. Why I do not know. If an adult wants to sell their own body into prostitution to another consenting adult there are no rights that are being violated here. As controversial as it may sound I have no problem with that on a legal playing field. I may personally fin it to be a dirty and
derogatory profession but so is the second oldest profession, that of a politician and that is not yet illegal, so fair is fair I guess.

PUBLIC SCHOOLS

I believe that homeschooling is not only a right that parents have, but a responsibility. Caesar’s Obama’s schools are no place for children. The public education system does not make students life long learners, instead it is based on a memorization system that teaches children to memorize cold, hard and basically worthless facts just long enough that they can regurgitate them upon the weekly test and more importantly the tests that determine state funding. REAL learning is when kids are interested in subjects and DESIRE to learn more. They think analytically and KNOW things rather than just having a bank of memorized facts and snippets of information stored away. The best way for a child to get this kind of education is for him/her to be taught and inspired by someone who cares about their well-being and loves them and wants them to succeed in every way possible. This person would be a mother, father, grandparent, or other relative or guardian who has an interest in a young persons life. It is time the parents of America stand up and say that is time for them to raise their children, not Obama and his liberal minions.

AKA: state-run socialized education, is a complete farce! I believe that when public schools started, they worked well. Kids were actually getting an education, nowadays kids that attend the public schools are indoctrinated. America now ranks 24th OUT OF 29 participating nations in international student assessments! There was a time when sending your kids to public schools in the US was a good idea, parents all across the world would send there kids here to get educated because we led the world in math and science. Those days are so far behind us now it’s not even funny. Private and homeschooling is clearly the way to go! If you can’t afford it, then teach your kids the truth when they get off the bus, tell them to ace all their teachers tests, but not to believe everything they are spoon fed. Teach your kids to think for themselves.

RELIGIOUS RIGHT

I am not against people who would consider themselves a part of the Religious Right, I am against their inability to understand that making decisions about the way people should live their lives is not their concern. They are trying to create a more noble, moral, and godly country and I can appreciate their sentiments – it would be lovely if things worked out this way – but they need to wake up and realize that forcing people (especially unbelievers) to follow the moral teachings of Jesus Christ is only going to drive the unsaved farther away from the Light of Christ. Let people make the journey on their own, interference by a “moral majority” is only going to do harm.

In my opinion, the Religious Right has caused much more damage to the Conservative movement in the Republican Party than any other form of so called conservatism. The religious right is notorious for censoring free speech and legislating morality, these concepts are anything but conservative ideas! In fact, they are very contrary to the Biblical teachings of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. God created all men and women to be free spirited, free to choose their own destiny and anyone who would deny another human being the right of a choice in my
opinion is just as unsettling to God as the person who does the wrong deed.

REPUBLIC

A Republic is truly a unique form of government. All rights of the citizens are guaranteed by a Constitution (or a declaration of rights) and protected by the government (and that happens to be the only role of the government). Rights therein cannot be voted away, only added to. In our country it seems bureaucrats in DC are trying to take away our rights, and they are succeeding. Take the 2nd Amendment for example. We are losing our 2nd Amendment rights piece by piece. This is because we are not a true Republic anymore, we’ve moved into the stage of a democracy, in which rights can be taken away by the majority. After all, if you ask any child what form of government we have, they’ll tell you we have a democracy. The government-run schools want your children to believe that for the reasons described above.

“A republic ma’am if you can keep it.” Benjamin Franklin said to a woman who asked him what form of government our founders had established for us after the constitutional convention. That’s because Franklin knew that a Republic was the only form of government that could ensure the blessings of liberty to our posterity and ourselves. The word Republic comes from the Latin words, res and public meaning the public this or the law. A republic is the system of government where government is restricted by the law, leaving the people free. This is what our founders wanted for us and if we cant keep it we will transition from a republic into a democracy and gradually become an Oligarchy. Remember we pledge allegiance to the flag of the united States of America and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands… Not to the Democracy for which it stands!

SCHOOL VOUCHERS

Of course! Any way to give options to parents trying to get the best education for their children is a good idea. We need to stop the public school bureaucracy and the indoctrination of our young people and work toward the best future for our children.

Giving parents the freedom of choice is the greatest thing you can do for them. School Vouchers promotes competition in the education system. If Windsor Manor elementary school sucks then why spend tax dollars on it when it has been proven that more money in the system does not encourage learning. If a school can’t thrive on its own than shut it down!
Send the children to successful schools after all that is what is most important here is our children’s education. Then all of the bad teachers will be weeded out leaving open doors for all of the good teachers to take advantage of. School vouchers are the next best thing after private schools.

SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

When I say pro, I don’t mean I am pro the Democrat meaning of Separation of Church and State. The whole idea behind SCS was not to keep God out of schools, courtrooms, and American lifestyle and create a secular nation. It was meant to protect the Church from the State! Our Founding Fathers wisely feared the possibility of the government interfering with and corrupting the Church, just like it happened with the Church of England.

No, I am not being a moderate here saying I am undecided. When you hear the term Separation of Church and State, there are two different interpretations of it. The modern liberal translation says, ‘God can not be mentioned in public schools, we need to take God out of the pledge, you can’t pray at football games or any other public place for that matter
because the Constitution says something about a Separation of Church and State because we don’t want to offend anyone who doesn’t believe in God.’ That kind of thinking is bunk and I don’t buy into it at all. If that’s what you mean when you say Separation of Church and State, than I am Con. The first meaning of the term I am 100% pro on what is the
translation of the term used in context. First thing you need to know is the term Separation of Church and State never once is mentioned in the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence or any of our other founding documents. The term was first used by Thomas Jefferson in a private letter that he sent to the Danbury Baptists in 1802 when he referred to a “wall of separation” between church and state because the Danbury Baptists heard that we were going to become the Church of the United States, much like the Church of England. The Danbury Baptists left the Church of England for a reason and did not want the United States to become the same way. What he meant by this was that the Church shall be separated and protected from the State not the other way around! When speaking of this in this the true context I am in favor of a separation of Church and State.

SOCIAL PROGRAMS

Very few government-run social programs need to exist and those should be programs that offer temporary relief only. These programs that foster dependency on the government, and therefore your neighbor, destroy work ethic and the economy.

Whenever you hear the word social or national or universal it means government run which is the premise of communism. Social programs never work they only make the problem worse.

SOCIAL SECURITY

This is a bogus handout program that has the true objective of controlling American citizens. Why don’t we get rid of income taxes and allow individuals to keep that extra cash for their retirement? The S.S. number is also a big scam. It was supposed to be used as an account number of sorts to keep track of your Social Security benefits – not to be used
as a means of identification. Yet here we are, 60+ years later, and the S.S. number is used as a major source of identification for American citizens.

August 14, 1935 was one of the biggest mistakes in American history, because on this date FDR signed into law the Social Security Act that has ruined America, in my opinion. The idea of it sounds good, it is appeasing to the common person, but to the well educated, it is nothing more than the government assigning every citizen a serial number that they will be known by rather than their name. Look at all the problems it has caused this country, identity theft is one of the many. All it takes is for one person to steal your government issued number and your life is over. America needs to abandon this useless program.

STATES RIGHTS

The 10th Amendment has basically been erased from the Constitution. We have the illusion of the States making decisions but really they are all controlled by the ploy from the Feds with the promises or hope of grant dollars or bailout dollars or threats. As Pennsylvanian’s, let us rise and take back our state from an overbearing Federal government and then let’s rise and take it back from the far east and west sides that consistently vote liberal ruining the lives of the generally conservative folks in the heart of PA.

Our founding fathers knew that a large tyrannical Federal Government would be the destruction of freedom. They wanted the American people to have options as to ware they lived and the laws they lived under that’s why states rights are so important. If you live in Nebraska and they allow Abortion and you don’t like it you can move to Texas ware they don’t. Then after a few years the people in Nebraska will have aborted themselves out of existence and good people can move back there and make the state how they want it to be. That’s how our fathers designed it, that’s why the Declaration of Independence says, “The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America” the letter u was lowercase on purpose because they wanted us to be 13 states that just so happened to be united. United is a descriptive word an adjective, it’s not part of the title, that’s why its lowercase. If it was part of the title then if would have been written, the United States of America, but that’s not the case our founding fathers wanted each individual state to be almost like its own country, without a large federal oversight.

STEM CELL RESEARCH

Experimental testing on embryos is a touchy subject. However, I am 100% against giving federal funding (aka: your tax dollars) to the research. I am also against the way the research is performed. Embryos are created with the purpose of eventually being destroyed. This devalues life and sends the message that life is something that can be created and taken in a whim.

Don’t misunderstand me, I am all for research to discover cures for diseases, cancer, etc but most of the time when people are talking about stem cell research they are talking about breeding test tube babies for the sole purpose of doing tests and experiments on them. Sound familiar? It should Adolf Hitler did things very similar to this. It is inhumane and sick! I am not however against doing research on babies who accidentally died in child birth or in other circumstances similar to this as long as the parents are ok with it. The government can’t just take a deceased child from its parents to do tests on it when they are grieving their loss.

10 COMMANDMENTS IN COURTHOUSES

Tough one. I don’t thing we should be tearing the 10 Commandments off of any public buildings, however, when constructing new buildings (which should be VERY rarely mind you) it should lack any religious connotations. The government of this country(not the citizens) should remain secular. I believe that when the political parties in this country (namely the Republicans) stop trying to push religion and religious ideals down peoples’ throats, we will then begin to see Americans’ being brought into the Light of Christ.

I am a very outspoken Christian however for the most part; I do not support the 10 commandments being displayed in courts. I am not a politically correct individual so in no way am I concerned about offending people by the very thought of the 10 commandments or the bible. Our nation was after all founded on the rock of a Judeo-Christian believe system, in fact, most of our laws are based off of the 10 commandments however I do not believe it is an appropriate use of tax dollars. Now if a private citizen wants to purchase a monument that resembles the 10 commandments and donate it to the courthouse and the people are willing to accept it then there is no harm done. But it should not be the burden of the taxpayer, especially considering not all American taxpayers believe in them. How would you Christians feel if your tax dollars were being spent to put Buddha statues in public buildings? Now don’t get me wrong I don’t think we need to go rip out any monuments in court buildings that are already in place. If they are already there then the damage is done just leave them alone. I would be even more foolish to spend more tax dollars removing them, after the tax dollars put them there.

TERM LIMITS

I used to be against term limits, but I have since changed my position and have come to realize they are necessary for a free republic to stay a free republic. It’s an unfortunate thing that a great congressman or even President could come into office and have to retire after he has reached his “term limit”. However, look at it from the opposite perspective.
We get an awful administration or group of congressmen and they talk real pretty and are basically unchallenged when election season rolls around and they have a long reign. This is no longer a representative republic; this is a monarchy or in some cases even worse – a totalitarian regime!

I certainly can see both sides to this argument. I understand that term limits can stop a great leader from running again and doing great things for our country. However, the opposite is also equally true that a terrible leader can ruin our nation. Such a form of government is called a monarchy. Similar to the rein of Saddam Hussein, which I disagree with.

TOBACCO RIGHTS

Regardless of whether or not you use tobacco, you too should support tobacco rights. It is the un-conservative thing to do to support smoking bans and high tobacco taxes. But I have asthma you say, I hate the smell of smoke. I understand that, but maybe I hate the smell of potato chips. I hate smelling them and I hate the crunch they make when you chew them and I think they are the worst thing you could put into your body. I think potato chips should be banned. Obviously, this is not my actual opinion, I love chips, but it illustrates what would happen if the government started regulating the use of legal products. The smoking bans may not affect you, but think how a potato chip ban would affect you…it’s a rocky road
to go down.

Tobacco companies are under attack by the government more and more in recent times than ever before. Yes it has been proven that cigarette smoking can be harmful to the body but that doesn’t make it ok for the government to step in and legislate morality by making it illegal to smoke in privately owned and operated buildings etc. It shouldn’t matter if you are a smoker or not you should be opposed to this kind of government that takes away your rights. If you give the government an inch they will take a mile. Today they may be fighting to stop smokers but tomorrow they will take your rights away too. Next thing you know it will be illegal to eat fast food too.

UNITED NATIONS

I hate the United Nations. Oops, should I have said that? I hope I won’t be considered a terrorist. The UN is a junk foreign alliance that discourages national sovereignty and promotes socialism – we need to break off all ties with it.

The United Nations is one of the biggest wastes of time and money if you ask me. Sure the idea of is great to keep peace throughout the world but they apparently are not that good t it after all they were not able to stop WWII and they have turned a deaf ear to us when ever we need their help despite that fact that we fund 22% of the UN’s budget which is
more than any other country in the world.

WAR IN AFGHANISTAN

I supported the War in Afghanistan when we first went in to bring Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda to justice for the attacks of 9/11. Now that Osama is dead and we have chased the majority of al Qaeda out of Afghanistan (and into Iraq), I think it’s time to leave that country. All we are doing at this point is policing their borders and assisting in skirmishes that Afghanistan’s military should be handling. We can’t afford to police the world – we are broke!

I have not forgotten about 9/11. All nineteen Islamist terrorists who were affiliated with al-Qaeda were from Afghanistan. Osama bin Laden was also from Afghanistan. No one knows is bin Laden is dead or alive yet but we need to stay in Afghanistan and win this war on terrorism to stop radical Islam from taking over the world. It is obvious to me that the war is a huge success after all we have not been attacked on our soil since 9/11.

WAR IN IRAN

Absolutely against any preemptive attack. Don’t misunderstand me though – the day anyone from Iran does so much as harm one American citizen, I’ll be the first to call on the troops to clean some Iranian house. America’s old national symbol/animal was the snake. It was seen on many flags around the time of the Revolutionary War (remember Join or Die)? The snake was chosen because snakes don’t attack first, only if they have been provoked. But once they begin to fight they are fierce warriors that will battle to the death! We in America need to rekindle that viewpoint of our foreign policy.

I have many mixed feelings about going to war in Iran. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a sick freak! He supports terrorism all around the world but as of right now he poses no serious threat to the United States. Iran has never attacked us on our soil. Now I am not saying they never will. Ahmadinejad comes to the United States and calls us his friend but that doesn’t mean we can flirt with the devil. Ahmadinejad and everything he stands for is evil to the core but that does not give us reason to attack them for no reason. American is and always has been a nation who didn’t start wars but just finished them. And that’s how we need to handle this situation. We should stay out of their business. But IF and WHEN they do attack us I will be the first one to change this Con to a Pro.

WAR IN IRAQ

I didn’t think it was a good idea to get involved considering the faulty “weapons” evidence we had, but we made the decision to go in anyway. When we found no weapons, we should have left and here is why: spending our tax dollars and troops lives for a foreign country’s freedom is not what the founding father’s intended for us. In fact they warned us about entangling alliances. This all being said, the goals set at the beginning of the conflict have been accomplished. We’ve taken Saddam out of power, drastically reduced attacks by extremists and insurgents, and have helped organize elections…what more can we do for these people, other than pay for their government to operate? We can’t even afford our own government let alone two governments.

I am 100% behind the work that has been done in Iraq I don’t believe it was a mistake going in there. However I believe we have already won the War in Iraq. Saddam and all of his children are dead or have been brought to justice. And they have their precious “democracy” now so I believe we need to continue our gradual withdraw from Iraq and start lining our troops up at our border. We need our troops protecting us at home more than we need them being the world police.

WAR ON TERROR

I hate this term. It is a blanket term that is used to describe the War in Afghanistan, the War in Iraq, and all of our future wars in the Middle East. With an arbitrary title like “War on Terror”, without the defined name, any conflict the government wants to involve us in can be thrown under this war umbrella. This way you’re either for it or against it – you can’t be for one mission and against another this way.

I believe one of George Bush’s biggest mistakes was to label the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan under one name the – “War on Terror”. In so doing people now associate any war against terrorism or terror in general into one big war. It is not the job of Americans to fight terror everywhere in the world. We cannot send our best and bravest men to die for the cause of another nation that we have no ties with. Our job is to take care of our own land, and we have enough planks in our own land that need addressed before we go pointing out every little speck in they eyes of every other nation.

WATER BOARDING

I love the idea of getting information out of terrorists that may be useful, however, I am of the opinion that water boarding is torture. I used to believe the line about it being an “advanced interrogation method”, but I have since realized it is nothing more than advanced torture. The so called beauty regarding water boarding for those trying to persuade us that it isn’t torture, is how innocent it appears to be. They put a little towel over the face and sprinkle a little water, who cares? The fact of the matter is this – even though the brain tells you you’re fine, your physical body believes you are drowning and that knocks all the rational thinking right out of the brain. This is as good as drowning the person. But they are terrorists – who cares right? Two things: first, we are Americans, not backwoods sand people, we need not resort to unrespectable tactics. Americans do things the honest way which usually is the tougher road. We can succeed without dropping to their level. Second, I believe that terrorists are made in God’s image just as much as the baby in the womb that the Christian Republicans are so quick to defend. How a CHRISTIAN can say it is okay to torture an unarmed and bound human being I will never understand.

Let me get this straight… Terrorists are captured by the United States, for being terrorists. These people blow themselves up for a living. OK…you can’t just threaten to shoot them if they don’t answer your questions. They view death as a quick and painless way to the “promise land”. And there are people in this country who think it is not justifiable to torture this terrorist even if in doing so we could be preventing the deaths of innocent people? It amazes me the over sensitiveness of people in this country! These people are not people they are terrorists! I say we strap them to an elevated table and cover their face with a towel and pour water down their frick’n throats until they squeal like the little SOB’s they are!

WELFARE

It is as simple as this: it is not the role of the government to feed, clothe, or entertain us! And that means they shouldn’t support us financially. Truly needy people should receive relief from churches, non-profit organizations, charities, and their families.

Bill Clinton’s, “War on Poverty” aka: more welfare, which made poverty worse not better! There is an old Indian saying that I find bares repeating: “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man how to fish, feed him for a lifetime.” And that’s just it; people on welfare are not looking for another government handout they are looking for a way out of their responsibilities. And as long as we keep providing for their every need while they sit on unemployment all we are doing is making them more dependent on the government. Which is exactly what the government wants.

WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION

As I understand it, the WTO was created in 1995 to promote trade and international development by reducing tariffs and other restrictions. However, I see this as an oxy-moron. We don’t need another oversight organization to promote free trade – we need less of them!

The W.T.O. was designed to create freer markets, which is one of the three tenets of Conservatism, but the results of this group does no such thing. They limit free trade and thus they enslave the American people. The freer the markets the freer the people.
