Sam Rohrer Announced U.S. Senate Bid
It is now official. What Adam predicted back at the beginning of November has come to fruition. Yesterday, November 21, 2011, Sam Rohrer made the official announcement of his bid for Bob Casey’s seat in the United States Senate to represent Pennsylvania on a national scale. This election is huge, not just for Pennsylvanians, but every American because the legislation Rohrer votes on will effect every American.
Anyone who follows The Conservative Declaration Talk Show Program knows well that Adam and I have been huge supporters of Sam Rohrer from the very beginning. Rohrer has been a frequent guest on our show discussing such topics as Real ID, SPLC and “domestic terrorism”, and his bid for Governor of Pennsylvania, among other topics.
Sam Rohrer has been a principled conservative leader in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. In 18 years of service Rohrer never once voted to increase taxes and was endorsed by Gun Owners of America when he ran for governor because he never questioned or infringed upon Pennsylvanians right to keep and bear arms. Rohrer fought hard to eliminate school property taxes and to defend the right of privacy in PA via his efforts to prevent Real ID from being implemented in PA.
In his speech, Sam spoke at length about the importance of keeping and restoring our constitutional republic. It’s rare to find public figures who put such great emphasis on this and so it was good to hear a candidate for senate going down that road, but I have had many lengthy discussions with Rohrer in the past and have heard him talk a lot about this before so it was really nothing new. I also know a lot about the man when it comes to state politics and I love everything the man has stood for, but I don’t know an awful lot about his stances on national issues, so I have been itching to hear him speak out on some of these crucial issues and for him to launch his official issues page. Before Sam’s announcement, his campaign gave an open invitation for his Facebook fans to post questions for him to answer during the question and answer segment of his town hall announcement. The first question of the evening was by The Conservative Declaration’s very own Adam Holtzapple. Here is the question Adam posed: “What are your thoughts on the Federal Reserve’s actions manipulating both interest rates and the money supply? Would you, as senator, support an audit of the Fed? Thank you.”
Sam’s answer gave me more assurance of his core conservative principles, “That’s an easy one to answer, what do I think about the manipulation? It’s just that… manipulation. Number two: should they be audited? 1,000% absolutely! And just a few seconds more on that. This is a pretty informed crowed, but some watching may not understand. The Federal Reserve is a private organization, it never had constitutional authority. Congress was to coin the money. It was given away to a private organization, therefore, a private organization is being supported by the tax payer dollars. It is a simple request to demand that there ought to be an audit. Therefore yes, absolutely an audit is in order!”
